you’re a bitch, and i don’t like you
is what i wish i could say…
Religion is an interesting thing. Today my boyfriends sister noted to j that I didn’t do the sign of the cross during grace at dinner - “like I should”, since everyone else at the table does. Funny thing is, I sit quietly and respect their religion and the fact that they say grace whereas she will do the sign of the cross whilst muting the tv, waiting until its done, just so she can go back to watching x factor or jersey shore or whatever crap it is she watches - but apparently my non-actions have offended her.
I don’t understand how someone can think that going to church every Sunday makes them a good person, that going to church will save them. I believe in god, I do. And deep down I think that every religion is connected and essentially the same, but has changed to suit certain communities. But that doesn’t mean I’m happy to partake in another religion willy-nilly and the fact that she expects me to, drives me nuts.
What good comes out of me practicing a part of their religion that I don’t believe in? It was essentially what she was asking me to do. If I were to do it, it would only cheapen the whole ordeal. Like when she goes to church and doesn’t pay any attention. What’s the point? It is much more worth while to not go, and to internally reflect upon your own, than to go purely for face value.
good luckkk
